Description
The Atlas Racing Team series program includes tuition, race training and race craft on Sydney Harbour before the race and afterwards.
- Race Training as a Team - You train and compete on board one of our Jarkan 39, Hick 30 or Surprise 25 race-tuned yacht. Prior to the races you learn / practise the boat setup, race crew roles, hoisting sails, trimming, tacking and gybing,
- Race Competitively as a Team - training together gives the crew the chance to familiarise themselves with the boat and to settle into roles to race competitively.
- Race Planning / Strategies / Tactics - having developed your spinnaker handling skills you go on to learn rules, tactics and strategy on the race course.
- Race Series - discounts can be arranged for signing up for the race series - usually 35% off total race price, e.g 10 Races @ $65 x 35% = $425 for the serare usually offered seapararely, e.g SASC Winter series. This is a great opportuity to get into the Sydney racing scene and meet yacht owners and crew members for a drink or two after a day's racing.
- Maintenance Day(s) – we will hold maintenance days during the season for those who want to learn more about keeping a racing yacht in good trim. Activities may include: small repairs and maintenance items, sail washing, checking lines for wear and tear, rig check, pressure cleaning decks, internal clean and even hull cleaning (for the brave of heart under supervision using an underwater breathing apparatus).
