Description
RYA Radar
This course is aimed at anyone who needs to learn to set up and use the set effectively as a navigation aid and for collision avoidance.
Description
This is a hands-on course. You will gain an understanding of various maintenance tasks that help to keep your yacht safe and operational.
Radars are a common feature onboard recreational and small commercial vessels and yet are not always used to its full potential. In fact, many people fear turning it on because they don’t know how to use it properly.
The course content was developed by the Royal Yachting Association to help small vessel operators, both power and sail get better use of their radar. You will get to experience different scenarios through a simulator covering all aspects of radar usage.
You will gain the confidence to use your radar in conditions of restricted visibility and the knowledge to understand what is on your radar screen.
We teach you how to take simple measures to prevent mechanical breakdown at sea and to rectify defects which do not require workshop support.
