Course Overview
This course introduces participants to the basics of sailing on keelboats, including boat handling, safety and sailing theory. L2 and L3 students can learn together on the same boat.
Atlas Sailing training courses are conducted by accredited Australian Sailing Instructors using the Australian Sailing 'Keelboat Program'. Our keelboat allows you to learn to sail without the fear of capsizing and onboard with several other people learning alongside you. Learning to sail in a self-righting keelboat provides a learning platform that is stable yet responsive.

2 courses.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who want to learn how to helm a keelboat and continue their skill development.
All the equipment and safety gear will be provided by Atlas Sailing.
Course Outcome
You will gain your Start Helming completion certificate.

What to Bring
Soft soled shoes (white if possible), hat, sunscreen, shoes, wind/rain jacket, gloves (recommended) and a curious mind.

Atlas Sailing abides by the Australian Sailing Instructor/Participant ratios; hence places are strictly limited. All programs are subject to change with limited notice, based on demand and availability and weather conditions.
Please read the Atlas Sailing refund policy before registering. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 14 days prior to the event as there are limited places available. If a session is cancelled due to weather, or another force majeure circumstance, participants will be offered a place on another scheduled date or a full refund.
