This is the 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time or wants a new experience. If you know a bit and want to have a taste of keelboat sailing on Sydney Harbour. A great way to start your sailing journey!
Atlas Sailing training courses are conducted by accredited Australian Sailing Instructors using the Australian Sailing 'Keelboat Program'. Our keelboat allows you to learn to sail without the fear of capsizing and onboard with several other people learning alongside you. Learning to sail in a self-righting keelboat provides a learning platform that is stable yet responsive.
Course Overview
This is the perfect 'taster' for anyone who wants to discover sailing for the first time. This is the perfect introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.
This sailing experience introduces new participants to the joy and fun of sailing on small keelboats, including boat handling, safety and a very little sailing theory. This course is for participants keen to experience what sailing on a keelboat is about.
Course Prerequisites
No experience necessary – lots of curiosity.
Who should do this course?
This course is designed for participants who wish to begin sailing in a keelboat. Learn the basics, whilst staying relatively dry! All the equipment and safety gear will be provided by Atlas Sailing.
Course Outcome
This is a casual introduction and can be the ideal way for you to begin your sailing journey, without having to commit to a full training course.
Price(s)
- Individual - $150 per person. (max 4 students per yacht)
- Group Package / Private - $450 per group – up to 4 persons.
- Min Age – 16 yrs or !2yrs with guardian

What to Bring
Soft soled shoes (white if possible), hat, sunscreen, shoes, wind/rain jacket, gloves (recommended) and a curious mind.

Meet at Atlas Sailing Office at Mosman Bay Marina - 4hr parking nearby.

Generally:
- Until 30 Oct 24 - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am-12pm or 1-4pm
- From 1 Nov ot 30 Mar - Friday, Saturday and Sunday 9am-12pm, 12:30-3:30pm, 4pm-7pm

Atlas Sailing abides by the Australian Sailing Instructor/Participant ratios, hence places are strictly limited. All programs are subject to change with limited notice, based on demand and availability and weather conditions.
Please read the Atlas Sailing refund policy before registering. Refunds will not be provided for cancellations less than 14 days prior to the event as there are limited places available. If a session is cancelled due to weather (winds above 20knts or thunderstorms), or another force majeure circumstance, participants will be offered a place on another scheduled date or a full refund.
